Staff Dentist

About the Role

Provide professional dental services at AHS Dental Clinics under direction, performing a variety of duties related to oral health care and patient education.

Responsibilities

• Perform oral examinations, interpret x-rays, and treat mouth diseases.
• Conduct prophylactic procedures, restorations, and other necessary dental treatments.
• Take impressions, order dentures, and fit/adjust them as needed.
• Instruct patients in oral hygiene and dental care practices.
• Perform emergency procedures to reduce immediate pain and refer patients for follow-up care.
• Conduct dental evaluations for juveniles covered by aid programs and inform guardians of required care.
• Refer patients to regularly scheduled Staff Dentists for additional treatment when necessary.

Requirements

• Possession of a valid license to practice dentistry in California.

Pay

$129.87 per hour. The pay range reflects the base pay scale for the role at Alameda Health System. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, education, skills, licensure, departmental equity, collective bargaining agreements, and operational needs.
