Staff Data Scientist, Forecasting

Responsibilities

• Own the strategy and implementation of forecasting models for key company metrics.
• Lead the full modeling lifecycle from problem framing to deployment and monitoring.
• Translate forecasts into actionable recommendations for senior leadership.
• Drive broader time-series impact through anomaly detection, channel attribution, and early-warning signals.
• Partner with BizOps/Finance and product teams to embed forecasting into business operations.
• Guide and mentor a team of data scientists, focusing on technical quality, execution, and impact.

Requirements

• 8+ years of combined post-graduate academic and industry experience in building and shipping production time-series/forecasting models with web-scale data.
• A strong background in time-series modeling and applied statistics/econometrics; advanced degree (MS or PhD) preferred.
• Expertise in at least one scripting language (Python) and strong SQL skills (Hive/Presto/Spark SQL).
• Excellent communication skills to present complex analyses to executive audiences.
• Proven technical leadership with success in leading critical projects and influencing project scope and output.

Qualifications

• Experience with forecasting models and web-scale data.
• Ability to deliver adjustable, well-calibrated, and explainable forecasting systems.
• Knowledge of machine learning and AI techniques relevant to forecasting.
• Experience with data pipelines and workflows (Airflow).
