What You’ll Do
- Develop a deep understanding of Pinterest's ads delivery, analyzing full-funnel opportunities and risks.
- Lead projects on Pinner Lifetime Value (LTV), tradeoffs between ads and organic engagement, and ads delivery opportunities across different stages of the funnel.
- Design and implement robust, scalable machine learning and evaluation frameworks, covering forecasting, recommendation, and causal inference.
- Advocate for best practices in experimentation, instrumentation, and metric design, bridging short-term metrics with long-term business impact.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, translating complex data questions into actionable insights.
- Mentor and guide junior and senior scientists, fostering intellectual curiosity and driving technical excellence.
What We’re Looking For
- 10+ years of hands-on experience in web-scale data environments, solving complex, ambiguous problems in product, engagement, or ecosystem analytics.
- Deep expertise in machine learning, statistical modeling, product analytics, programming in Python/R, and advanced SQL/Spark.
- Strong product intuition, ability to scope, question, and design solutions for high-impact business problems.
- Scientific rigor and healthy skepticism, challenging assumptions and driving robust, reproducible outcomes.
- Exceptional communication skills, simplifying complex issues and influencing both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Track record of mentoring and growing data talent at the staff/senior IC level.
- Cross-functional leadership and the ability to align competing interests towards shared goals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- Experience with web-scale data environments.
- Hands-on experience in solving hard, ambiguous problems in product, engagement, or ecosystem analytics.
- Expertise in machine learning, statistical modeling, and product analytics.
- Programming proficiency in Python/R and advanced SQL/Spark.
- Strong product intuition and ability to translate complex data questions into actionable insights.
- Experience advocating for best practices in experimentation, instrumentation, and metric design.
- Track record of mentoring and growing data talent.
- Cross-functional leadership and the ability to align competing interests towards shared goals.
Benefits
The position is eligible for equity and offers a competitive salary range of $164,695—$339,078 USD. Final salary is determined based on location, travel, relevant prior experience, or particular skills and expertise.
