Staff Counselor
About the role
Cabell Huntington Hospital is seeking a full-time Staff Counselor within the Counseling Center Department. This position reports to the Counseling Center Manager and provides counseling services to individual adults, adolescents, and children, as well as couple and family therapy and group therapy.
The Staff Counselor conducts psychiatric intakes for new clients, arrives at accurate diagnoses, and keeps psychiatric diagnoses updated. Additionally, the role provides other services appropriate to the counselor’s training and licensure, aligned with the goals of the Counseling Center and the needs of the community.
This individual contributes as a team-player in the collegial and mutually supportive environment of the CHH Counseling Center, adding unique knowledge, skills, and abilities to enrich the Center’s diversity and depth while maintaining the quality of service the community expects.
Responsibilities
- Provide counseling services to individuals, couples, families, and groups
- Conduct psychiatric intakes for new clients
- Arrive at accurate diagnoses and maintain updated psychiatric records
- Deliver services aligned with the counselor’s training, licensure, and the Counseling Center’s goals
- Collaborate as part of a team in a supportive and collegial environment
- Contribute unique expertise to enhance the Center’s diversity and service quality
