Staff Counselor

About the role

This position serves as a Staff Counselor within the Counseling Center Department at Cabell Huntington Hospital. Reporting to the Counseling Center Manager, the role includes providing counseling services to individuals, adolescents, and children, as well as couples and families through therapy sessions and group therapy. Psychiatric intakes are handled, including arriving at accurate diagnoses and updating psychiatric diagnoses. Other services provided align with the counselor's training and licensure, and are guided by the Counseling Center's goals and the community's needs.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a Staff Counselor in the Counseling Center Department at Cabell Huntington Hospital
• Provide counseling services to individuals, adolescents, and children, as well as couples and families through therapy sessions and group therapy
• Handle psychiatric intakes, arriving at accurate diagnoses and updating psychiatric diagnoses
• Provide other services appropriate to the counselor’s training and licensure, and according to the goals of the Counseling Center and needs of the community

Requirements

• Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
• Experience in providing individual, adolescent, and child counseling, couple and family therapy, and group therapy
• Experience with psychiatric intakes and diagnosis updates
• Ability to work collaboratively in a collegial and supportive environment

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field
• Master’s degree in a related field preferred

Pay

The salary range for this position is $50,000 - $60,000 annually, commensurate with experience.

Schedule

The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, with occasional evening and weekend availability as needed.
