About the role

We are expanding into physical retail and seeking a Staff Construction Project Lead to support the delivery of our growing retail footprint within the Consumer Group. In this role, you'll oversee the construction execution of high-complexity projects, working through vendor construction project managers and field teams to ensure consistent delivery across a portfolio of sites. You'll act as the primary internal point of accountability for construction outcomes, coordinating across internal partners and external vendors to ensure projects are built safely, efficiently, and in alignment with approved designs, brand standards, and operational requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Construction Oversight & Retail Rollout: Oversee the construction delivery of new retail locations from pre-construction through opening. Manage schedules, budgets, and delivery performance across multiple sites, ensuring work executed by vendor construction project managers meets quality, safety, schedule, and cost expectations.
  • Vendor Construction Team Interface: Serve as the primary interface between the company and vendor construction project managers and field teams. Provide portfolio-level oversight across a larger set of projects, ensuring consistency in execution, reporting, issue escalation, and adherence to standards.
  • Coordination with Design & Internal Partners: Partner closely with internal design teams to clarify scope, resolve constructability issues, and ensure approved design packages are executed accurately in the field. Ensure design intent is carried through construction without performing design work.
  • Day 2 Works & Post-Opening Support: Oversee post-opening construction activities, including punch lists, warranty items, and minor fixes. Coordinate with vendor teams to drive timely resolution and apply lessons learned to improve future builds.
  • Project Controls & Vendor Management: Maintain strong project controls across multiple concurrent projects. Manage trackers, schedules, purchase orders, invoices, and change orders, as well as review vendor reporting and hold construction teams accountable to agreed-upon scopes and timelines.
  • Refreshes, Remodels & Field Improvements: Execute approved refresh and remodel projects across the existing portfolio. Coordinate construction activities with vendors and operations partners, managing sequencing and site logistics to minimize disruption.
  • Facilities & Operational Collaboration: Partner with facilities and operations teams to support smooth handoff from construction to steady-state operations. Address construction-related facility issues and ensure building systems and life-safety components are operating as intended at turnover.
  • Stakeholder Communication & Reporting: Provide clear, consistent updates to internal stakeholders including Real Estate, Finance, Operations, and Design. Surface risks, dependencies, and trends across the portfolio, using data to support informed decisions and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Experience overseeing construction delivery through construction project managers.
  • Proven ability to manage a portfolio of concurrent projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, sequencing, cost controls, and risk management.
  • Comfortable partnering with design teams to resolve constructability issues.
  • Skilled at vendor oversight, performance management, and issue escalation.
  • Organized, data-driven, and detail-oriented, with strong project controls and documentation habits.
  • Clear communicator who collaborates effectively across internal teams and external partners.
  • Proficiency with project management tools such as Smartsheet.
