Staff Clinician, Embedded Services (School of Dental Medicine)

About the role

The University Counseling Center (UCC) is a department within the Division of Student Affairs at the University of Pittsburgh. Accredited by the International Accreditation of Counseling Services (IACS) and American Psychological Association (APA), the UCC provides a range of services including crisis intervention, outreach, workshops, group, individual, relationship/couples therapy, and specialized treatment teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual counseling to students within the academic school/program.
• Provide group counseling based on program need.
• Provide crisis support and counseling.
• Provide care coordination to students requiring on- and off-campus resources and referrals.
• Provide outreach services including Ask a Therapist, Wellness Workshops, and Peer Support Spaces.
• Cook up innovative outreach programming to target specific student and program needs.

Qualifications

• A Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW).
• A Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) license.
• Experience in providing individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, and drug and alcohol assessments.
• Ability to create and facilitate student psycho-educational, prevention, and support groups as well as student success programming.
• Experience instructing undergraduate classes and administering campus-wide initiatives.
• Ability to assist in training interns and staff.

Skills

Strong interpersonal skills, excellent communication abilities, and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with mental health software platforms are also beneficial.
