About the role
A Dental Hygienist is a licensed member of the dental team responsible for the preventive aspects of oral health that provide clinical, education and therapeutic services that promote optimal oral health.
Responsibilities
- Collecting patient and clinical data by reviewing and updating medical history, identifying contraindications and requesting medical clearance as necessary, performing oral cancer screenings and perio assessments, charting dental findings.
- P Practicing infection control by maintaining a sterile environment in the operatory, inspecting instruments for sterility. Practices universal precautions.
- Providing clinical services by exposing radiographs, performing dental cleanings, performing scaling and root planning with the local anesthesia, dispense fluoride and administer therapeutic agents.
- Providing patient education by reviewing home care, oral hygiene instructions and reviewing treatment plans with the patient.
Requirements
- Associate's/Vocational Degree Required and Bachelor's Degree Preferred.
- Dental Hygienist license required.
- Three to Five years' work experience.
