About the role
The Staff Pharmacist provides patient-centered pharmaceutical care, combining clinical consults with traditional drug distribution activities.
Responsibilities
- Prepare IV admixtures and compound medications
- Verify orders and dispense medications
- Assist in antibiotic and anticoagulant dosing
- Participate in patient rounds
- Collaborate with healthcare providers for medication education, reconciliation, and discharge counseling
- Evaluate drug regimens and interpret physician orders for interactions
- Review medication profiles to optimize therapy
- Provide guidance and supervision to pharmacy staff, ensuring compliance with pharmacy laws
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's or Doctorate in Pharmacy from an accredited institution
- Licensure as a Registered Pharmacist
- BCPS certification preferred
- Hospital pharmacy experience and at least 2 years of clinical pharmacy experience are desirable
- Strong clinical, communication, and patient assessment skills
