About the role
Verdantas is seeking a Staff Civil Engineer I at our St. Clairsville, OH location. This opportunity is ideal for recent graduates or emerging professionals ready to transition from academic learning to impactful, real-world engineering.
Responsibilities
- Carry out field inspections and document construction activities
- Interpret design drawings and specifications
- Resolve issues with contractors on-site
- Conduct soil and concrete material testing
- Prepare clear and concise written field reports
- Aid Project Managers with technical and civil engineering design
- Assist with project management tasks
- Contribute to meaningful projects that drive environmental and infrastructure solutions
- Engage in technical engineering work related to land development and water resources:
- Stormwater management design
- Site grading
- Erosion and sediment control design
- Prepare plans for agency/municipal review
- Complete various land development and environmental permitting applications
- Attend meetings with municipal officials, engineers, developers, and contractors
Requirements
- Associate degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited institution
- A bachelor's degree is a plus
- 0-2 years of experience in land development and civil-site engineering
- Familiarity with HydroCAD or other stormwater modeling software
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D preferred
- EIT Preferred
- Familiarity with ArcGIS software is preferred
- Strong written and oral communication skills

- Strong desire to grow and advance as an engineer or technical designer
Skills
- Technical knowledge in civil engineering
- Ability to interpret design drawings and specifications
- Proficiency in HydroCAD or similar software
- AutoCAD and Civil 3D skills
- Knowledge of ArcGIS
- Effective written and verbal communication skills

Pay
$65,000.00 - $70,000.00 annually
