About the role

Verdantas is seeking a Staff Civil Engineer I at our St. Clairsville, OH location. This opportunity is ideal for recent graduates or emerging professionals ready to transition from academic learning to impactful, real-world engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out field inspections and document construction activities
  • Interpret design drawings and specifications
  • Resolve issues with contractors on-site
  • Conduct soil and concrete material testing
  • Prepare clear and concise written field reports
  • Aid Project Managers with technical and civil engineering design
  • Assist with project management tasks
  • Contribute to meaningful projects that drive environmental and infrastructure solutions
  • Engage in technical engineering work related to land development and water resources:
    • Stormwater management design
    • Site grading
    • Erosion and sediment control design
    • Prepare plans for agency/municipal review
    • Complete various land development and environmental permitting applications
  • Attend meetings with municipal officials, engineers, developers, and contractors

Requirements

  • Associate degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited institution
  • A bachelor's degree is a plus
  • 0-2 years of experience in land development and civil-site engineering
  • Familiarity with HydroCAD or other stormwater modeling software
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D preferred
  • EIT Preferred
  • Familiarity with ArcGIS software is preferred
  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Willingness to learn through trial and error
  • Self-motivation and willingness to put full effort into tasks
  • Strong desire to grow and advance as an engineer or technical designer

Skills

  • Technical knowledge in civil engineering
  • Ability to interpret design drawings and specifications
  • Proficiency in HydroCAD or similar software
  • AutoCAD and Civil 3D skills
  • Knowledge of ArcGIS
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

Pay

$65,000.00 - $70,000.00 annually
