Staff Automation & Platform Engineer

For our client, a leader in the Manufacturing & Automotive space, we are seeking a Staff Automation & Platform Engineer. This role will lead work at the intersection of data, AI-enabled capabilities, and scalable technology delivery. You will work across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technology solutions, influencing architecture, execution quality, and long-term technology capabilities in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain a full-stack software platform to support AI-driven business solutions
• Refactor prototypes into robust, production-ready code
• Apply engineering discipline for reliability in automation pipelines and agentic frameworks
• Design complex workflows to address intricate business challenges
• Manage API connections between predictive models and various systems
• Continuously develop agents within emerging third-party platforms and evaluate new tools
• Implement logging and monitoring mechanisms to minimize system downtime
• Document and promote engineering best practices across teams

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• 8+ years of experience in Software Development, Automation Engineering, or Backend Engineering
• Strong proficiency in Frontend (ReactJS/Vite), Backend (Python), and Data (PostgreSQL/Databricks)
• Strong emphasis on code quality, error handling, and testing
• Experience rapidly learning and building production-quality agents in third-party platforms like Databricks and Glean

Pay

$160,000 – $246,000 annually
