Staff Attorney - Sr Counsel (multi-level)

About the role

Provides legal counsel and advice to the corporation and its subsidiaries to ensure their effective operation in accordance with federal, state, local, and/or international laws. Desired location is Memphis, TN; Pittsburgh, PA; Plano, TX; and Irvine, CA, but the role can be located anywhere within the United States excluding Alaska, Hawaii, and US territories. You may be required to work at a FedEx Campus several times per week.

Responsibilities

• Provides legal counsel and guidance to FedEx to ensure legal compliance and protection of its rights.
• Assesses legal risks.
• Prepares legal documents.
• Represents the company in legal matters.
• Provides on-the-spot legal advice.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Minimum Education: Juris Doctorate degree from an Accredited Bar Association (ABA) and admission to the bar.

Minimum Experience: Four (4) years’ experience and demonstrated competency relevant to area of legal specialization. Superior academic record.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Software skills, including use of Microsoft Office software and web-based applications.
• Verbal and written communication skills necessary to communicate with all levels of management.
• Time management and organizational skills necessary to manage multiple projects, appropriately prioritize workload, plan for resources to meet deadlines and goals.
• Ability to analyze, review, and make recommendations.
• Ability to work and influence peers and senior management.

Preferred Qualifications

• This position provides critical support to the Commercial organization and the Company’s AI efforts.
• Technology Transactional experience handling complex data and technology transactions domestically and globally.
• Client communication and good problem‑solving skills.

Pay

Pay Transparency: Pay: Staff Attorney: Mkt N&Y‑$7,897.55 - $15,795.10; Mkt M‑$9,082.19 - $18,164.36 | Sr Attorney I/Sr Attorney II: Mkt N&Y‑ $10,429.04 - $20,858.09; Mkt M‑$11,993.39 - $23,986.81 | Sr Counsel: Mkt N&Y‑$11,040.27 - $22,080.54; Mkt M‑$12,696.31 - $25,392.62

In New Jersey, any compensable Security and Walk time will be paid to non‑exempt/hourly employees at the state minimum wage.
