STAFF ATTORNEY: EDUCATION (Springfield)

About the role

The role involves providing legal representation in education matters, including handling cases related to student discipline, special education, and civil rights.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on educational laws and policies
• Represent clients in administrative hearings and court proceedings
• Prepare and present evidence and arguments in support of client positions
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop strategies and solutions

Requirements

• J.D. degree from an accredited law school
• Admission to practice law in the state of Illinois
• At least 3 years of relevant legal experience

Qualifications

• Strong analytical and research skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Skills

• Experience with education law
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Knowledge of legal ethics and professional responsibility
