Staff Attorney - Department of Social Services
Position Summary
This Court Operations Manager position will oversee the Court Interpreter/Court Reporter Division. Under general direction of the Director of Court Operations, and or Director of Family and Children Services the individual in this position will plan, organize, coordinate and manage the activities and operations of a division of the Sonoma County Superior Court; develop, interpret, implement, and evaluate workflow improvements; policies, and procedures; and perform related work as required.

Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelors degree in public, business, or criminal justice administration or closely related field and four years of supervisory/program management experience.
- OR Any combination of experience, education, and/ or training, in program management which substantially provides the following knowledge, skills and abilities; two (2) years of court experience is highly desirable.
- Working Knowledge Of Relevant codes, policies, processes, duties and responsibilities of managing the designated division; Statues, rules, and regulations that govern the specified division; Principles and practices of business and office management; principles and practices of Human Resource management, employee supervision and training; legal terminology, legal forms and related documents.
- Organization, function and operation of the Superior Court system; Administrative principles and methods including goal setting, program development and implementation.

- To Develop and maintain harmonious relationships with judges, attorneys, litigants, employees, other agencies and the general public;
- To Communicate orally and in writing on a variety of issues effectively;
- To Exercise sound, independent judgment within general policy guidelines.
Process to Apply
Background Investigation: Convictions, depending upon the type, number and date, may be disqualifying. Court employees shall be subject to a modified background investigation and fingerprinting. False statements or omission of facts regarding background or employment history may result in disqualification or dismissal.
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of physical exam, background check, and the provision of appropriate identifying documents to certify eligibility to work in the United States. This is a full-time, unrepresented position. Employment is contingent upon information received in the report. Retiremenet Plan: Tax deferred contributory system under the County Retirement Act of 1937. This is a defined benefit plan integrated with Social Security. Employee may elect to make additional contributions into a separate 457 deferred compensation account up to the IRS annual maximum.

Insurance: Employees and their dependents are eligible for dental, vision and the choice of three health plans. The Court's current contribution is approximately 85% of the premium for the health plan selected. Short and long term disability plans fully paid by the Court. Employee assistance program. Term life insurance equal to two (2) times the annual salary is provided by the Court; additional life insurance may be purchased.
