Staff Attorney

This role will lead operational priorities where safety, quality, compliance, and execution discipline are central to success. You will collaborate with field leadership, support functions, and cross-functional stakeholders to improve accountability, service delivery, and operational consistency. The position offers the opportunity to influence operational scale, customer outcomes, and organizational performance within a mission-driven environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Responsibilities

• Support various program areas with complex legal needs, including contract drafting and negotiations
• Provide legal advice on nonprofit operations, compliance, and regulations
• Manage legal risks by developing policies and legal templates
• Collaborate with finance on compliance and protocol
• Ensure subaward agreements comply with funding agreements
• Coordinate with outside law firms on diverse legal matters
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

• JD degree from an accredited law school and licensed to practice in at least one U.S. state bar
• 7+ years of experience in general law practice, emphasizing contract and corporate law
• Strong verbal and writing skills to simplify complex legal issues
• Experience with a whole systems approach to problem-solving

Pay

$152,540 – $188,000 annually
