About the role
As a staff-level attorney, the incumbent handles legal assignments with significant impact on child-support cases, routinely tackling matters of varying legal complexity.
Responsibilities
- Review and approve warrant requests, search warrants, investigative subpoenas, and MiCSES records
- Analyze child-support payment records, investigative reports, credit reports, and internet-based asset searches
- Draft motions, responsive pleadings, formal and informal legal opinions
- Provide day-to-day legal representation for the People of the State of Michigan
- Extensive driving and frequent court appearances, including Probable Cause Conferences, Preliminary Examinations, Pretrials, Hearings, and Trials
Requirements
- Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited school of law
- Membership in good standing in the Michigan State Bar
- For Attorney-Senior 16: four years of post-bar admission legal experience
