Staff Associate (Part Time)

Chapel of the Chimes Funeral Home, Memorial Park, and Crematory is looking for a Part-Time Staff Associate to join our team in Hayward, California, where we offer a passionate and purpose-filled work environment. Our Staff Associates are responsible for assisting funeral directors with events, helping to maintain the facility appearance, and providing information in a compassionate and professional manner to our client families. This is a great opportunity for mortuary students or mortuary student candidates! Your work is the foundation of our ability to supply a source of support, guidance, and direction to client families before, during, and after the loss of a loved one. We provide our staff with strong local, regional, and home-office support so that they focus on what matters: serving our client families. Responsibilities Collaborate with funeral directors with events held on-site, including services and arrangement conferencesEstablish and maintain strong business relationships with familiesAlways maintain reverence and respect for the deceasedAssist in preparing the memorial area for the family two hours before the services startEnsure that flowers and other memorabilia are returned to the family after servicesAnswer customer inquiries professionally, either by phone or in personEnsure that service vehicles are presentable prior to the serviceAssist is cleaning the memorial area after the conclusion of a service and preparing for the next ceremony being held in that areaAssist the funeral director/arranger in charge in directing the movement of the casket, urn, immediate family members, pallbearers, and guests.Conduct on-site and off-site services as dictated by the business schedule Qualifications 1 year of experience in customer service preferredExperience handling difficult situationsMust be available to work weekdays and/or weekends. Weekend requirement includes four (4) weekend days per month.Must be available for evenings during the weekday and or weekend.
