About the role
Must be local to the Portland, OR area. While this position is fully remote, candidates must be located in the Portland metro area for occasional in-person meetings as the company establishes its local office presence.
Responsibilities
- Aid with payroll setup and administration
- Set up and maintain QuickBooks Online
- Establish accounting procedures and financial workflows
- Set up trial balances and accounting records
- Process payroll and employee expenses
- Prepare financial reports and support reporting needs
- Aid with financial analysis and management reporting
- Support various accounting functions as business needs evolve
- Help develop scalable accounting processes to support company growth
Qualifications
- 2+ years of general accounting experience
- Understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Experience handling payroll and expense management
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
Preferred
- QuickBooks Online experience
- Experience setting up accounting systems and processes
- Startup, small business, or high-growth company experience
- Well-rounded accounting background with the ability to adapt to changing needs
