Key Responsibilities

  • Validate Capex Spend submissions from properties by confirming proper coding and ensuring transactions are posted correctly to Host’s ledger.
  • Analyze Work-in-Progress and Due To/From Manager for Owner-Funded Capex account balances, preparing and recording adjustments as needed.
  • Complete quarterly FF&E escrow reconciliations, identify and communicate variances to properties, and partner with property teams to resolve discrepancies in compliance with SOX guidelines.
  • Collaborate with Capital Financial Services and IT to maintain alignment between Workday and Champion (capital tracking platform) for capital project cost reporting and work jointly to resolve inconsistencies.
  • Process asset dispositions, including recording of proceeds and performing asset retirements in Workday.
  • Participate in Workday release testing for assigned reports and processes to ensure system updates operate as intended.
  • Prepare assigned monthly and quarterly reports and reconciliations.
  • Support internal and external audit requests related to capital expenditures and asset accounting.
  • Afford assistance with additional assignments and special projects as directed.

Required Skills

  • Excellent technical accounting skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong Excel skills and proficiency with MS Office.
  • Familiarity with Workday or any other major automated accounting system.
  • Ability to build effective partnerships across departments and communicate clearly with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and committed to continuous learning and process improvement.

Education/Experience

  • BS/BA in Accounting/Finance from an accredited university/college.
  • Two to four years of progressive experience in accounting.
  • Previous experience in real estate, hotel industry preferred.
  • CPA or progress toward CPA certification preferred.
