Senior Accountant - Fixed Assets

Responsibilities
Own the full lifecycle of fixed assets across SAP S/4HANA and legacy systems (capitalization, depreciation, transfers, retirements)
Ensure timely and accurate completion of month-end and year-end close activities
Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and asset rollforwards
Maintain fixed asset subledger integrity and alignment to the general ledger
Partner with FP&A, Procurement, and business leaders to review and validate capital expenditures
Provide insights into capital spend trends, project status, and return expectations
Support development and tracking of annual capital budgets, including expansion of capital tracking and workflow tools
Ensure compliance with US GAAP, SOX requirements, and internal capitalization policies
Design, execute, and continuously improve internal controls over fixed assets
Prepare quarterly (10Q) and annual (10K) disclosures and supporting documentation
Lead audit support for internal and external auditors
Identify and implement automation opportunities across fixed asset processes (e.g., reconciliations, reporting, asset tracking)
Develop dashboards and reporting to enhance transparency of capital activity and asset performance
Standardize processes across ERPs and drive adoption of best practices
Partner with IT and Shared Services leadership to deliver efficiency gains tied to transformation objectives
Deliver actionable reporting and insights to support decision-making across finance and operations
Analyze capital project trends, asset utilization, and depreciation impacts
Build and maintain data models, reports, and dashboards (e.g., Excel, Power BI)
Serve as subject matter expert for fixed assets accounting
Mentor junior team members and support knowledge transfer
Drive a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement within Shared Services
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
5+ years of progressive accounting experience (fixed assets or general accounting)
Experience in a SOX-controlled, publicly traded environment preferred
Strong knowledge of US GAAP (fixed assets, capitalization, depreciation, impairment)
SAP S/4HANA experience strongly preferred; multi-ERP experience a plus
Experience with fixed asset systems (e.g., Thomson Reuters Fixed Assets CS) preferred
Advanced Excel (pivot tables, Power Query, data modeling) experience
Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI) preferred
Demonstrated experience driving automation and process improvements
