About the Role
A critical priority for this role is building our inventory processes from the ground up. You will lead the selection, setup, and rollout of a modern inventory tracking system as we scale, while also overseeing day-to-day accounting functions in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead the selection, setup, and rollout of a modern inventory tracking system; establish best practices for physical inventory counts, raw material tracking, and valuation.
- Oversee day-to-day accounting functions, including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable/receivable, job costing, and month-end closing procedures.
- Leverage QuickBooks, ADP, and Excel to drive efficient bookkeeping, payroll processing, and financial reporting.
- Analyze financial and job data to identify variances and present actionable solutions without sugarcoating realities.
- Proactively support cross-functional teams by filling gaps where financial, inventory, or administrative assistance is needed.
- Defend organizational interests and team integrity through accurate reporting, audit readiness, and sound financial stewardship.
- Navigate fast-paced, multi-faceted challenges across job costing, steel inventory management, and vendor/subcontractor workflows.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (Required).
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience; background in construction or manufacturing is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks, ADP, and advanced Excel for streamlined bookkeeping and reporting.
- Demonstrated experience or strong eagerness to implement and manage an inventory system from scratch.
