Staff Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our client on a contract basis in Delaware, Ohio. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong background in accounting and a passion for maintaining accurate financial records. You will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity of our financial processes and contribute to the success of our operations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Perform bank reconciliations to align financial records with actual transactions.
• Assist in month-end close processes, including account analysis and adjustments.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts to maintain accurate and up-to-date financial statements.
• Collaborate with other departments to gather financial data and resolve discrepancies.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and organizational policies.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends or irregularities.
• Support audits by providing documentation and explanations as required.
• Maintain organized and secure financial records for easy access and reference.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in accounting, including journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger work.
• Familiarity with month-end close processes and financial reporting.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in accounting software and tools.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with team members.
• Knowledge of accounting principles and compliance standards.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
