About the role
The Staff Accountant supports day-to-day accounting operations across a multi-entity healthcare network, including general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, and month-end close support. This role is well suited to an early-career accounting professional looking to build technical, multi-entity accounting experience within a growing, technology-enabled organization.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjusting entries as part of the monthly close process.
- Perform account reconciliations across cash, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and other balance sheet accounts.
- Support the accounts payable and account receivable functions as needed, including bill coding, vendor research, and clients outreach.
- Maintain accurate, organized supporting documentation for journal entries and reconciliations.
- Assist with the preparation of financial statements and management reporting across multiple entities and locations.
- Support the Controller and Accounts Payable Manager with ad hoc reporting, audit requests, and process documentation.
- Identify opportunities to streamline manual accounting tasks, and support the implementation of automation and AI-enabled tools within the accounting function.
- Assist with special projects, including new entity onboarding and system integrations as the organization grows.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- One to three years of accounting experience; recent graduates with strong internship experience will be considered.
- Working knowledge of NetSuite or another ERP system; NetSuite experience is preferred.
- Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables and lookup functions.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a multi-entity environment.
- Demonstrated interest in leveraging automation and AI-enabled tools to improve accounting workflows and efficiency.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience in a multi-entity or multi-location organization; healthcare experience preferred but not required.
- Prior exposure to NetSuite and an AP automation platform such as Ramp or Bill.com.
- Progress toward CPA certification preferred but not required.
