Job Summary

The Accountant prepares, analyzes and reviews financial statements using accounting principles in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and enterprise allocation methods.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required. If degree is in Finance, successful completion of Intermediate Accounting I & II required.
  • Experience: Prior accounting experience desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Affords assistance with financial reporting audits, working with the internal audits, Arkansas Insurance Department, independent auditors, and/or Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association.
  • May assist in special projects, as directed.
  • May be required to analyze and review financial statements for completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Performs general accounting functions, including but not limited to preparation of journal entries, coding of invoices, accounting analysis and reconciliation.
  • Prepares supporting financial data as required.
  • Reconciles, confirms and maintains general ledger accounts.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
