About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our growing accounting team. This position offers hands-on exposure to multiple areas of accounting, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, collections, account reconciliations, invoicing, vendor management, and AIA billing. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong organizational skills, excellent attention to detail, and experience supporting day-to-day accounting operations in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounts receivable functions including posting payments, monitoring aging reports, and following up on outstanding balances.
• Process accounts payable transactions, including invoice review, coding, and payment processing.
• Prepare and submit AIA billing and construction-related billing documents.
• Support invoicing activities, credits, order corrections, and customer account maintenance.
• Perform collections activities and maintain documentation of customer communications.
• Complete account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Maintain vendor records and assist with vendor database management.
• Apply service and sales payments accurately and timely.
• Assist with month-end accounting activities and special projects.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and recommend efficiencies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred; Associate degree plus relevant accounting experience considered.

• Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• AIA Billing experience.
• Construction, contracting, homebuilding, distribution, or building materials industry experience.
• Experience with ERP systems such as HomeSource, Sage, NetSuite, Dynamics, Acumatica, or similar platforms.

Pay

$60,000 - $65,000 per year
