Job Description
The Sporting Kansas City’s Stadium and Event Operations Intern holds a temporary position within the company, emphasizing educational training and practical experience in professional sports operations.
Essential Functions
- Collaborate with the Operations Team at Sporting Park to understand and execute all hosted events, gaining comprehensive knowledge of operations.
- Learn and participate in the operational logistics and execution of special events, including corporate meetings, weddings, holiday parties, and various sporting events.
- Assist with game day preparations, such as coordinating sponsorship activations, setting up premium spaces, and transitioning them at appropriate times.
- Attend department meetings to learn about organizing events and assist with game day operations like coordinating giveaways, ball kids, and Flag Kids.
- Take lead on special projects, such as inventorying game day staff equipment and managing sponsor's activation items.
- Perform rotation of office tasks, including creating plaza maps and diagrams and updating spreadsheets.
- Represent Sporting Kansas City and its related affiliates professionally at all times.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned.

Skills and Experience
- Pursuing an undergraduate degree or graduate degree required.
- Completion of freshman year at a four-year, accredited college institution or enrollment in an accredited graduate program, with the ability to provide proof of internship credit toward degree completion.
- Minimum of a 3.0 cumulative GPA based on a 4.0 scale.
- Interest and experience in competitive sports preferred.
- Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Calendar.
Physical Abilities
- Required to sit, stand, and walk frequently.
- Frequent stooping, bending, pulling, and pushing.
- Use hands to finger, hand, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
- Reach with hands and arms.
- Talk and hear consistently.
- Specific vision abilities required include distinguishing the nature of objects by using the eye.
- Will be working near moving mechanical parts.
- Normal office hours, as well as non-traditional hours for events and game days, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
