Full-time, non-exempt position located in ST, reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor.
About the role
The Industrial Maintenance Technician is responsible for the installation, inspection, maintenance, and troubleshooting of pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and digital control systems, as well as mechanical systems, instrumentation, and pumps. This role requires reading prints and schematics, troubleshooting high-volume production equipment, and participating in an on-call rotation.
Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, digital control systems, mechanical systems, instrumentation, and pumps.
- Read and interpret electrical single-line diagrams, I/O diagrams, electrical motor control schematics, P&ID drawings, and mechanical blueprints.
- Perform preventive maintenance and document scheduling to ensure safe and efficient operation of manufacturing and facility equipment.
- Support operations with clear communication and organization regarding repair progress and status.
- Identify root causes of process problems and facilitate corrective actions.
- Interact with vendors and contractors to execute projects and repairs.
- Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools to precision measuring instruments and electrical/electronic testing devices.
- Initiate Management of Change (MOC) as required.
- Adhere to all site environmental, health, safety, and security requirements, as well as local, state, and federal regulations.
- Maintain hazardous waste in compliance with regulations.
- Follow RC14001 guiding principles, policies, procedures, and other requirements.
- Travel frequently up and down stairs.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical, electrical, and leadership skills.
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with a sense of urgency in decision-making and time management.
- Experience with the following maintenance equipment:
- Allen Bradley products: Guard Master, PowerFlex, Flex I/O, Control Logix controllers, and system components (preferred).
- Core facility equipment: boilers, air compressors, air dryers, and steam systems.
- Pumps: maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Calibration of gauges and digital output meters.
- Prior leadership experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment (preferred).
- High school diploma or GED.
- Excellent communication and computer skills.
