St George Hospital - Clinical Nurse Educator - 7 West Aged Care & Hospital in the Home - Permanent Full Time

About the role

The Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) at St George Hospital provides coordination, delivery and evaluation of clinical nurse education at the ward/unit level. This includes orientation and transitioning for new nursing staff, undergraduate and casual nurses, as well as meeting the ongoing educational needs of existing nursing staff. The CNE also provides clinical supervision at the point of care within everyday clinical practice, in line with the ANMC Decision Making Frameworks for Nurses/Midwives.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, deliver and evaluate clinical nurse education programs at the ward/unit level.
• Provide clinical supervision at the point of care within everyday clinical practice, in line with the ANMC Decision Making Frameworks for Nurses/Midwives.
• Support the development and implementation of educational initiatives to enhance nursing practice.
• Evaluate educational programs to ensure continuous improvement and effectiveness.

Requirements

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia.
• Holds a relevant clinical or education post registration qualifications or such education and clinical experience deemed appropriate by the employer.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Understanding of teaching and learning in the health care environment (adult learning principles).
• Demonstrated clinical teaching & facilitation skills.
• Demonstrated knowledge of competency attainment and assessment.
• Demonstrated recent educational experience in an acute care facility.

Qualifications

• Relevant clinical or education post registration qualifications.
• Such education and clinical experience deemed appropriate by the employer.

Skills

Pay

$124,273.7 - $128,301.89 per annum plus Superannuation.

Schedule

38 hours per week.
