The Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) provides coordination, delivery and evaluation of clinical nurse education (including programs) at the ward/unit level. Such education may include orientation and/or transitioning for new nursing staff, undergraduate and casual nurses, as well as meeting the ongoing educational needs of existing nursing staff. The CNE also provides clinical supervision at the point of care within everyday clinical practice, in line with the ANMC Decision Making Frameworks for Nurses/Midwives.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, deliver, and evaluate clinical nurse education programs at the ward/unit level.
• Provide orientation and transition support for new nursing staff, undergraduate and casual nurses.
• Address the ongoing educational needs of existing nursing staff.
• Deliver clinical supervision at the point of care in alignment with ANMC Decision Making Frameworks.

Requirements

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia.
• Holds a relevant clinical or education post-registration qualification, or equivalent education and clinical experience deemed appropriate by the employer.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Understanding of teaching and learning in the healthcare environment, including adult learning principles.
• Demonstrated clinical teaching and facilitation skills.
• Demonstrated knowledge of competency attainment and assessment.
• Demonstrated recent educational experience in an acute care facility.

Pay

$124,273.70 – $128,301.89 per annum
