About the role
The Subsea and Seabed Warfare (SSW) platform is a new, complex program with strong Navy and Congressional support, targeting a single, late-Block-V Virginia Class submarine. As the Systems Engineering Test Lead, you will collaborate with the Lead Systems Engineer (LSE) and the D417 Test Team to guide multiple engineering disciplines in planning, managing, executing, and resolving challenges for the test program.
Assignments will be tailored to your experience, skills, and ambitions, as well as the evolving needs of the project. Occasional travel to customer sites, industry partners, and test locations will be required. You will need to be present at both the EB Groton Shipyard and EB New London as needed.
Responsibilities
- Brief EB and Navy leadership on the status of the test program.
- Maintain and execute the Master Test and Integration Plan (MTIP).
- Oversee and coordinate the programmatic test event, test asset, test index, and databases.
- Maintain the Master Integration and Test Schedule.
- Oversee the efforts of the IS&T IPT and drive issues to closure.
- Mitigate SSW test risks.
- Ensure test assignment for applicable design requirements.
- Assist in the development of Non-Propulsion Test Index and Master Test Index.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.
- Minimum of 8+ years of technical work experience (including Navy experience).
Preferred Qualifications
- Formal test program experience.
- Experience using the following tools:
- Microsoft Project
- IBM DOORS
- JIRA
Skills
- Strong writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to work as part of a team and independently in a fast-paced, evolving, and technically challenging environment.
