About the role

The Assistant Director oversees the SSVF program, which focuses on homelessness prevention, rapid re-housing, and transitional supportive services for veterans and their families. The position involves managing a caseload, coordinating outreach efforts, conducting assessments, and providing wraparound services.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day operational activities, including maintaining and tracking SSVF documents.
  • Lead the SSVF program team and provide back-up support to case management teams.
  • Coordinate client outreach and recruitment efforts, developing inter-agency relationships, and facilitating landlord/tenant relations.
  • Facilitate outreach activities, such as presentations and community fairs, and coordinate with community partners.
  • Develop and implement service coordination plans with community partners and assist with the development of planning, evaluation, and implementation procedures.
  • Attend and participate in public meetings and presentations to explain the SSVF program.
  • Complete quarterly summaries and documentation reports as required by the SSVF grant.
  • Coordinate outreach efforts, screen potential program participants, conduct assessments, and develop comprehensive Family Service Plans.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and service teams to address issues and ensure appropriate support.
  • Ensure appropriate use of and documentation of any temporary financial assistance and complete participant reassessments as required.
  • Participate in program and professional supervision, attend required meetings and trainings, and contribute to team-based collaborative planning.
  • Complete all appropriate reporting in HMIS and other systems as required.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in counseling psychology, rehabilitative counseling, or a related human service field is required.
  • Minimum of two years experience working with homeless individuals and families, including veterans, is preferred.
  • A veteran or member of a veteran family is a plus.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and acceptable criminal background check.
