SRS Field Technician

Responsibilities
- Perform High, Medium, and Low voltage testing of electrical power equipment.
- Consult manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering personnel to troubleshoot and solve equipment problems and determine optimum equipment functioning.
- Prepare and maintain reports detailing all tests, repairs, and maintenance performed.
- Troubleshoot, repair, replace, and clean equipment and components in a substation.
Requirements
- Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
- Complete a satisfactory criminal background check.
- Able to work overtime and travel out of town for periods of time.
- Able to climb ladders, stand for extended periods, and lift 70 lbs.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a good driving record.
- Experience with the following test equipment: Power Factor, Ductor, Megger, CT ratio & saturation, and Hi-Pot.
- Knowledge of circuit breakers, transformers, switchgear, motors, PTs, and CCVTs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Willing to work in all weather conditions (heat, cold, rain) and wear personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, respirator when required).
- Able to work 8–10 hours per day, 40 hours per week, and overtime as required, including night shifts.
- Physical demands include crawling, standing, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, sitting, reaching, and routinely lifting heavy objects over 50 pounds, as well as pushing and pulling objects. Repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers. Physical work constitutes more than 70% of the job.
NETA certification is a plus.
