Responsibilities
- Verify and keep records on incoming and outgoing shipments
- Prepare outgoing shipments and receive deliveries to the warehouse at the dock and using warehouse management systems
- Manage the preparation, creation, retrieval, validation, and storage of documents necessary to support the operation
- Label, pack, and load items for shipment according to specifications
- Stage shipments for shipping
- Accept shipments and prepare docks for receiving
- Operate the stretch wrap banders and prepare pallets and crates for shipping
- Unload delivery vehicles and move items to appropriate area
- Inspect for damage, compare items and quantities received against freight bills or other records, and document discrepancies
- Maintain records of all items received and shipped via warehouse management and inventory systems
- Check receipts against purchase order for proper shipment, shortages, damages, or defects
- Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies
- Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations
- Ensure facility is inspection ready at all times for SQFI, FDA, and customer needs
- If the site is a CGMP environment, monitor proper inventory requirements: FIFO (First In First Out), Lot, and Age
- May assist with inventory cycle counts
- Perform other applicable duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High School or GED required
- Associate’s degree or two years of equivalent experience preferred
- Minimum six months in a warehouse or distribution environment required
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Excel required
- Attention to detail and quality required
- Ability to multitask in a safe manner
