SRE Architect

Job Summary

Lead the design and implementation of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) solutions for OSS/BSS systems in enterprise IT or telecom environments. Architect high-availability, resilient, and disaster recovery solutions on IBM Mainframe z/OS and midrange (Linux/Solaris) platforms. Drive SRE best practices including defining and managing Service Level Objectives (SLOs), Service Level Indicators (SLIs), and error budgets.

Technical Expertise

• Deep technical expertise on Ericsson Telcordia OSS applications such as SWITCH, TIRKS, FACS, WFA, and SOAC.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to SRE and operations teams.
• Oversee the implementation and optimization of observability, monitoring, and AIOps tools (e.g., Splunk, Dynatrace, Instana, NetCool).
• Lead automation and self-healing initiatives, incorporating CI/CD and reliability engineering practices across hybrid (mainframe and midrange) environments.
• Analyze and optimize mainframe systems performance, including z/OS internals, JCL, IMS, and VSAM.
• Collaborate with telecom operations teams to streamline provisioning, order management, activation, and service assurance processes.
• Manage incident response, lead root cause analysis, and drive improvements in Mean Time to Detect (MTTD) and Mean Time to Repair (MTTR).

Requirements

• Proven experience leading SRE projects in telecom or enterprise IT environments.
• Strong understanding of IBM Mainframe z/OS and midrange (Linux/Solaris) platforms.
• Experience with Ericsson Telcordia OSS applications such as SWITCH, TIRKS, FACS, WFA, and SOAC.
• Expertise in observability, monitoring, and AIOps tools (e.g., Splunk, Dynatrace, Instana, NetCool).
• Knowledge of mainframe system performance analysis, including z/OS internals, JCL, IMS, and VSAM.
• Experience collaborating with telecom operations teams to improve provisioning, order management, activation, and service assurance processes.
• Proven ability to manage incident response, lead root cause analysis, and drive improvements in Mean Time to Detect (MTTD) and Mean Time to Repair (MTTR).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in SRE, IT operations, or telecom environments.
• CISSP or equivalent security certification preferred.
