Sr. Windows Server & VMware Engineer

For our client, we are seeking a Sr. Windows Server & VMware Engineer to join the team of a leader in the Information Technology space. This role will focus on designing, building, and supporting enterprise infrastructure that underpins cloud and hybrid cloud transformation efforts. The engineer will partner closely with architects, engineers, and business stakeholders to improve reliability, streamline operations, and strengthen disaster recovery and business continuity capabilities. It is a hands-on technical position with broad ownership across Windows Server, virtualization, and automation. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $110,000 – $130,000 annually Responsibilities Build, migrate, and upgrade Windows Server operating systems, including 2012, 2016, 2022, and 2025 Design and support enterprise Windows Server and VMware infrastructure solutions Participate in cloud and hybrid cloud transformation initiatives Install, configure, and maintain server hardware and virtualization platforms Administer VMware technologies, including ESXi and vCenter Coordinate system backup and recovery operations to support high availability Develop automation solutions to streamline operational processes Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience 7+ years of Windows Server administration in enterprise environments 7+ years of hands-on VMware experience, including ESXi, vSphere, and vCenter Proficient in PowerShell, PowerCLI, and/or Python for automation Strong understanding of server hardware, storage, and networking fundamentals Experience with Active Directory and Group Policy management Skilled in technical documentation, including architecture diagrams and runbooks Benefits Opportunity to work on large enterprise cloud and hybrid cloud initiatives Engagement in infrastructure modernization and transformation projects Collaboration with architects, engineers, and business stakeholders Access to advanced AI-assisted tools for improving operational efficiency Involvement in disaster recovery and business continuity initiatives Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
