Sr. Welder

About the role

The welder is responsible for the construction of various products primarily focusing on welding and fabrication techniques, following a structured process: Identify materials and method, Prepare and fit materials, Weld within WPS parameters, Clean welded materials, and Inspect welds for quality.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment to assemble mechanical structures or parts with precision
• Read blueprints and drawings; take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures
• Determine appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements
• Set up components for welding according to specifications
• Operate angle grinders to prepare parts for welding
• Align components using calipers, tape measures, etc., and clamp pieces
• Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal, or overhead)
• Ensure welds meet ASME specifications

Requirements

• Proven experience as a welder
• Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (GTAW, GMAW, FCAW)
• Experience with electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers, etc.)
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
• Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves, etc.)
• Minimum one year of welding and fabrication experience
• Must be able to pass an on-site welding test

Qualifications

• Steady hand and great attention to detail
• Knowledge of different kinds of metal and their properties
• Experience levels:
  • Welder I – 0-5 years’ experience
  • Welder II – 5-8 years’ experience
  • Senior Welder – 8+ years’ experience
  • Master Welder – 10+ years’ experience & Cryogenic experience

Pay

Pay rate: $27.50 - $40.00 per hour.
