About the role

The Sr. Visual UX Designer will lead the vision for Alexa AI and device experiences, focusing on mobile and AI experiences. Based in Seattle, WA.

Key job responsibilities

  • Shape the vision of Alexa AI and device experiences
  • Have a keen eye for elegant, modern design and UI patterns
  • Bring a desire to coach others and facilitate collaborative sessions
  • Innovate and set standards for design excellence
  • Advocate for design solutions by putting them in context of business and customer goals
  • Confidently present to internal teams and senior leadership
  • Translate a vision into concise deliverables and build with engineering teams

About the team

The Devices & Services Experience Design (DxD) team leads user experience and industrial design innovation across Amazon's device portfolio, including Echo, Fire TV, Fire Tablets, Alexa.com, and related mobile apps. Our team works at the intersection of design, product, and engineering, creating meaningful hardware and software experiences that enhance customer lives. We believe in storytelling and thinking holistically to craft the "why" behind everything we ship.

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years of design experience
  • Available online portfolio
  • Experience designing and prototyping with tools such as Figma, ProtoPie, Adobe Creative Cloud, or similar

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience defining and maintaining design patterns and UX standards
  • Experience designing in an agile development environment
  • Experience crafting design concepts that inform the future vision for a digital product
  • Ability to read, understand, and consult on client-side engineering to extend design systems
  • Experience delivering production-level, highly polished visual designs and assets — with strong expertise in typography, layout, iconography, interaction, and visual systems across platforms — that are fresh, simple, elegant, and exceedingly usable.
