About the Role

Provides timely, quality maintenance for FedEx vehicle fleet and ground support equipment, including preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, modifications, and documentation. Documents work and maintains adequate inventory using FedEx computer systems. Ensures work is in accordance with OSHA and DOT standards. Guides and supports a staff of technicians and trainees. Performs other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on FedEx vehicle fleet and ground support equipment.
  • Document work and maintain inventory using FedEx computer systems.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and DOT standards.
  • Guide and support a team of technicians and trainees.
  • Operate and maintain all equipment, testing tools, gauges, and tools associated with hydraulic, gasoline, diesel, electric, and hybrid motorized equipment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Vocational training from an accredited automotive-related vocational school preferred.
  • ASE Master certification preferred.
  • Four (4) years of fleet, automotive, or truck vehicle advanced technical repair and maintenance experience.
  • Possession of a basic set of automotive hand tools including metric sizes.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and maneuver weights above 50 pounds with assistance.
  • Ability to work without supervision for extended periods.
  • Must be able to work in noisy, non-air-conditioned/heated work areas.
  • Must maintain a constant state of alertness and work safely.
  • Willingness to work any shift.
  • Valid driver's license in state of residence.
  • Must meet qualifications outlined in section 391 of the federal motor carrier safety regulations.
  • Medical exam required.
  • Subject to regulatory alcohol and drug testing, including testing for marijuana, PCP, amphetamines, cocaine, and opioids.
  • Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to understand traffic signs, communicate with traffic safety officials, and respond to inquiries.

Skills

  • Knowledge of troubleshooting and repair of hydraulic, gasoline, diesel, electric, and hybrid motorized equipment.
  • Proficient in operating a personal computer.
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
