Responsibilities

  • Underwrite new and renewal environmental insurance products (site pollution, contractor's pollution, and contractors professional) and negotiate policy terms and conditions while adhering to Allied World Environmental Underwriting Guidelines.
  • Strategically develop broker relationships in order to generate new business opportunities and manage existing accounts.
  • Prepare quotes, binders, referrals, and document underwriting files in compliance with company guidelines.
  • Develop and manage positive and effective working relationships with a commitment to service for all stakeholders (brokers, insureds, and internal personnel) leading to high customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinate and perform regular marketing calls, account stewardship meetings, and events to promote Allied World product offerings.
  • Participate in local professional organizations and engage with existing and prospective insureds and brokers on key developments in the marketplace.
  • Continue professional development through relevant training courses, continuing education, and/or seminars.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience underwriting environmental liability insurance products including site pollution, contractor's pollution, and contractor's professional policies working with both retail and wholesale brokers.
  • Practical knowledge and experience with all environmental liability products and services.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with both internal and external contacts.
  • Ability to provide superior customer service to our brokers and insureds.
  • Strong analytical and computer skills.
  • Strong business and relationship management skills to develop new business opportunities, retain renewal accounts and establish long term strategic broker relationships.
  • Excellent organizational and desk management skills with ability to work independently and demonstrate effective prioritization of workload.
  • Undergraduate degree required.
  • Approximately 25% travel required.

Preferred qualifications

  • CPCU or ARM designations preferred.

Pay

The salary range for this role is between $100,000 - $150,000. The actual base pay may be above or below the listed range and determined by a number of considerations, including complexity, location, scope of the role, experience, skills, education, training, and other conditions of employment. Base salary represents one component of Allied World's comprehensive total reward package, which may also include annual incentive compensation rewards.
