About the role

Our Senior Transportation Managers play a crucial role in exceeding expectations and providing a superb customer experience. This multi-faceted position requires the ability to balance strategy and execution. You will lead a dynamic team of Operations and Area Managers to achieve operational excellence through coaching, mentoring, driving employee engagement, and building leadership bench strength within the TOM organization.

Responsibilities

  • Own and deliver the operational budget for the functional area, including safety, productivity, financial and labor planning, and operational goals for TOM.
  • Provide strategic level/long-term planning (3, 6, and 12 months out) including labor planning, forecasting, and peak season planning.
  • Drive continuous improvement projects to optimize operations and improve productivity to meet and exceed business objectives; work on strategic projects with total building and network-wide impact.
  • Leverage Operations and Area Managers to solicit ideas and understand problems and challenges in the building.
  • Network with other leaders across the network to solicit and share process improvements, driving efficiencies and cost savings.
  • Establish objectives and metrics for safety, quality, productivity, and customer experience.
  • Set clear goals and expectations for Operations and Area Managers; measure performance, provide feedback, and hold leaders accountable.
  • Mentor and develop leaders and staff.
  • Participate in recruiting to identify and evaluate associates and internal/external candidates for promotion and hire.
  • Work closely with support staff (HR, Finance, Safety, IT, and other leaders) to build and secure support and resources for projects and initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of direct management experience.
  • Experience in performance metrics, process improvement, and Lean methodologies.
  • Experience with the full staffing lifecycle, including interviewing, hiring, performance management, promotions, and terminations.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours as business demands, including overnight, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing or delivering training programs across multiple sites or regions, or experience with project management.
  • Experience in management and leadership development, organization development, learning and development, group facilitation, training, and training design, or equivalent business experience.
  • Experience leading large teams/operations, including a salaried/hourly workforce, in a rapidly changing customer service, manufacturing, production, or distribution environment.
  • Experience in organizational leadership and development or talent management, with experience in a senior leadership role.

Pay

  • Tucson, AZ: $135,000.00 - $182,700.00 USD annually
  • Albuquerque, NM: $135,000.00 - $182,700.00 USD annually
  • El Paso, TX: $121,500.00 - $164,400.00 USD annually
