Essential Functions

  • Designs and partners with finance to create compensation plans in alignment with Marco compensation philosophy and talent strategy.
  • Leads discussions with various stakeholders to understand overall base and incentive strategy to ensure plans are built to deliver on business goals.
  • Creates compensation framework and maintains job leveling guides to ensure fairness and consistency across the company.
  • Guide job evaluations and pay-related decisions through development and deployment of standard compensation plans and tools.
  • Develops and standardizes total compensation programs that help attract and retain top talent by leveraging competitive market pay, short-term incentives, sales compensation, etc.
  • Participates in market surveys as needed and develops tools and techniques for compiling, preparing and presenting data to management to support regular and ongoing business decision making.
  • In response to changing/evolving labor market demands, continuously assess and bring forward creative pay/total reward options and alternatives to leadership for review/consideration.
  • Applies art and science to ensure internal job titles are aligned with the external market.
  • Partners with and consult with Sr. Vice President of Human Resources on executive compensation programs.
  • Oversees and directs our annual salary planning process (merit) to ensure fair and equitable decisions.
  • Creates training and communications materials for leadership regarding compensation process.
  • Includes regional/geographic pay considerations when building compensation plans.

Benefits

  • Manage the company’s comprehensive nationwide benefits strategy aligned to business priorities, workforce needs, and Total Rewards philosophy.
  • Oversee health, welfare, wellness, and leave programs for employees guiding Marco’s benefits team and work directly with our brokers to build meaningful programs.
  • Lead annual plan renewals, including plan design, cost-sharing strategy, and funding recommendations.
  • Ensure strong compliance and risk management across applicable requirements (including ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, and related federal, state/provincial, and local regulations) by working with internal teams and brokers/vendors to manage and ensure accurate plan documentation, filings, audits, and required notices are met.
  • Champion well-being initiatives spanning physical, mental, and financial health. Work directly with Marco’s well-being third party partner to establish and maintain meaningful well-being content that addresses employees need in health and wellbeing.
  • Build and manage broker and vendor relationships, leading vendor strategy and performance management across carriers, administrators, wellness partners, and consultants; run RFPs and negotiate contracts and service level expectations where needed.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on benefits strategy, emerging trends, and risk trade-offs.

Compliance, HRIS and M&A

  • Support due diligence and integration activities for mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures as they relate to benefits programs and role identification.
  • Oversee policy development and updates to ensure HR related state and federal compliance.
  • Lead HRIS/HR Operations to optimize technology, data integrity, and vendor integrations; strengthen reporting and insights.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business, Economics, Accounting, or related field required.
  • 6+ years of progressive compensation or related experience in compensation/total rewards program design.
  • Proven track record of designing incentive and non-sales compensation plans.

Required Skills

  • Ability to research information and analyze data to arrive at valid conclusions, recommendations and plans of action.
  • Strong excel and finance acumen skills to model business aligned incentive plans.
  • Ability to model, cost and explain unique and complex compensation scenarios and programs.
  • Highly consultative and collaborative approach to solving problems with the ability to make independent decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain and present technical topics to all levels of employees.
  • Team oriented with collaborative style; able to maturely handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Proven experience partnering and collaborating well with HR, Finance and operations.
  • Highly skilled at analytics (advanced Excel skills at minimum), data visualization, organization and critical thinking.
  • Experience with program development and administration.
  • Ability to negotiate and influence/educate managers/team members on compensation and benefits.
