Sr. Tester

About the role

Neos is seeking a Senior Tester for a contract position with a client in Austin, TX. This is a hybrid role requiring three days onsite per week in the Austin area (within a 50‑mile radius).

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute test scenarios and test cases using BDD/Gherkin syntax.
• Lead system, integration, end‑to‑end, and regression testing efforts.
• Perform SQL‑level data validation (Oracle or comparable databases).
• Define test strategy and mentor Mid‑Level Testers.

Required Skills

• Test scenario/test case development and execution using BDD/Gherkin syntax.
• Leadership of system, integration, end‑to‑end, and regression testing.
• SQL‑level data validation (Oracle or comparable).

Preferred Skills

• API/integration testing experience.
• Test automation tools such as Selenium or Cucumber.
• Testing data‑grid‑heavy, Angular‑based enterprise web applications.
• ISTQB Certified Tester (Foundation or Advanced Level) – preferred but not required.
• Experience with the TxDOTCONNECT platform (preferred, not required).

Qualifications

• 8+ years of QA/testing experience.
• 5+ years of experience with Gherkin/BDD.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• No mandatory certifications required by the RFP; industry certifications are considered a plus.

Schedule

Hybrid arrangement: three days onsite per week in Austin, TX.
