About the role

The Senior Test Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality of Thermo Fisher Scientific's products by performing rigorous testing on wafer-based Dual Beam systems. This position involves assembling, integrating, and testing components, collaborating with colleagues to improve manufacturing processes, and participating in continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Perform testing using prescribed methods and work instructions
  • Collect and analyze test data to make process decisions
  • Identify and troubleshoot problems during machine set-up, calibration, and preventative maintenance
  • Rebuild manufacturing equipment as needed to ensure operability
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and refine methods and procedures
  • Participate in continuous process improvement activities to maintain high standards for workplace safety and quality

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • A 2-year technical degree preferred
  • At least 2 years of manufacturing or mechanical assembly experience
  • Experience in precision mechanical assembly and low-volume, complex manufacturing processes
  • Previous experience using test equipment (Digital Multimeters, Oscilloscopes)
  • Experience in lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement
  • Previous troubleshooting experience in a clean room environment
  • Experience with Windows-based and MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access)

Qualifications

  • Ability to read detailed drawings and perform basic troubleshooting of electronic and mechanical assemblies
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team of 8-10 colleagues
  • Experience working in a clean room environment using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems independently and collaboratively
  • Support projects, perform training, and work productively as part of cohesive teams
  • Self-motivated, self-starter with strong organizational skills
  • Able to lift up to 35 lbs
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to partner with colleagues from diverse backgrounds

$31 - $33 per hour for the 1st Shift- 6:00AM to 2:30PM Monday to Friday
