They have a large presence internationally, and are continuing to expand and grow their North American presence. The North American group has consistently grown through various large carrier contracts (Example: AT&T FirstNet) and they are quickly approaching the deployment of new hardware/software and applications which is driving the need to add to the team. Our customer is currently looking to expand the team at their Annapolis location to add a Sr. Telecomm Network Administrator to support the deployment/"Go-Live" of their hardware/applications (Interworking function) at an increased scale. The Network Admin will be a core member of their 24/7/365 Operations team to provide Tier 3 layer support for networking and IT administration for ECS (Emergency Communication Service).

Responsibilities

• Serve as a point of escalation
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, or escalate tickets
• Proactively monitor systems

• Maintain comprehensive documentation of IT policies, procedures, hardware, and software
• Provide L3 technical support through Etherstack's 24/7/365 service desk, including on-call rotations and shift-based coverage; respond to, triage, escalate, and resolve incidents in accordance with defined SLAs
• Proactively monitor all IT systems, networks, and cloud infrastructure using observability tooling; identify and remediate issues before they impact operations
• Ensure IT systems meet security and compliance standards; plan and execute upgrades, patches, and hardening activities
• Maintain and administer user accounts, access controls, and application software licenses
• Conduct regular audits of IT systems and software; maintain an accurate, up-to-date asset register
• Document policies, procedures, infrastructure, and system configurations to a professional standard
• Analyze, test, and deploy software patches and updates in a controlled, risk-managed manner
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members; contribute to knowledge base articles and training materials

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a field related to IT, computer science, or telecommunications (relevant years of experience will suffice as well)
• Juniper Engineer level certification in both Routing and Switching (JNCIP) and Network Security (JNCIP-SEC) — desired, but not mandatory as they can have the experience with other manufacturers
• Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), and Red Hat Certified Specialist in Security certifications — desired, but not mandatory

• Systems Administration: Installation, configuration, hardening, maintenance, and patching of network and server infrastructure; advanced troubleshooting in disk/storage management including LVM, RAW, XFS, EXT4, and BTRFS
• Monitoring & Observability: Configuring, troubleshooting, and managing systems including Grafana, Prometheus, Elasticsearch, and related tooling
• DevOps Practices: Familiarity with Git-based workflows and automated deployment strategies in production environments

Pay

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $75.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

Schedule

This resource will be supporting the North American "day shift" as their partner across the globe will pick up the other shifts. There is an on-call rotation but we are working on the logistics for that. This is a fully onsite position in Annapolis, MD that can eventually move to a hybrid schedule. Resource should expect to be on-site for the first 6 months or so, but then move to a hybrid schedule once up to speed of 3 days in office and 2 days remote.
