Sr Technology Project Manager

About the Role
Manages complex software implementations, application development, infrastructure, and/or information and network security projects within the Technology department. Relies on industry standards and best practices to plan and execute projects while ensuring alignment with business objectives and stakeholder expectations. Familiar with all aspects of the software development life cycle (SDLC). Emphasizes effective stakeholder communication and collaboration to drive project delivery. Leverages traditional project management methodologies and Agile practices to lead and deliver technology projects successfully. Adapts to changing circumstances and employs the appropriate project management approach based on project requirements and the nature of the project.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define project objectives, requirements, deliverables, and scope.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and budget estimates.
- Develop project documentation including project charters, requirements, statements of work, communication plans, project schedules, status reports, and lessons learned.
- Identify project risks, constraints, and dependencies.
- Manage and track project changes, risks, and issues; recommend and implement corrective action and risk mitigation plans.
- Build and lead cross-functional project teams, assigning responsibilities and setting clear expectations.
- Foster a collaborative and motivated team environment to drive project success.
- Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to team members throughout the project lifecycle.
- Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and stakeholders.
- Employ traditional project management methodologies (e.g., Waterfall) to execute projects according to the defined plan.
- Monitor project progress, track milestones, and ensure adherence to project schedules.
- Manage project resources, budgets, and risks to mitigate potential issues.
- Facilitate Agile practices, such as Scrum or Kanban, to enable iterative development and adaptability.
- Conduct daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint demos, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Collaborate with product owners to prioritize backlog items and ensure alignment with business needs.
- Maintain regular and effective communication with project stakeholders, including sponsors, business owners, and team members.
- Provide timely and accurate project status updates, progress reports, and risk assessments.
- Facilitate project meetings, workshops, and presentations as needed.
- Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and fulfill business requirements.
- Conduct thorough testing, review, and approval processes before project deployment.
- Coordinate project implementation, including user training, change management, and post-implementation support.
- Identify lessons learned and best practices from completed projects to improve future project outcomes.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by implementing process enhancements and promoting innovation.
- Remain current on industry issues, trends, and new methods through self-learning, seminars, workshops, and conferences.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Transportation Engineering, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
- Six (6) years of experience managing software implementation, application development, infrastructure, or information and network security projects.
- Pass a physical (medical) examination that includes a drug screen in order to operate DART non-revenue vehicles.
- Proficiency in PC software applications including Microsoft Office or other related software applications.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is required.
- Agile certification (e.g., CSM, PSM, PMI-ACP) is a plus.

- Proficient with a variety of project management tools, e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, and Microsoft Project.
Pay
Pay Range: $92,000.00 – $151,800.00
Working Conditions
- Works in an environment with minimal exposure to dust, noise, or temperature.
- May be moderately exposed to unpleasant working conditions (dust, noise, temperature, weather, petroleum products, and chemicals) while visiting DART's operating facilities, assuming all safety policies, precautions, and regulations are followed, and protective clothing/devices are used.
