Sr. Technician

About the role

Maintains and repairs Baggage Handling Systems and Passenger Boarding Bridges.

Responsibilities

• Completes scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repair activities.
• Mentors, trains, and assigns tasks to other personnel.
• Monitors system operation, diagnoses equipment failures, and ensures safety.
• Provides direction, guidance, and expertise to other personnel.
• Reads and interprets repair manuals, schematics, and supervisor/manager's instructions.
• Works in tight and high spaces utilizing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and fall protection equipment.
• Follows and complies with all company and federal policies and procedures.
• Completes forms and performs additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or GED.
• Minimum 3 years of previous mechanical or electrical experience.
• Previous work experience in an airport environment preferred.
• Previous experience working on conveyors and/or passenger boarding bridges preferred.
• Basic knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in an industrial environment.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Windows proficiency.
• Valid driver’s license and insurability under the Company’s insurance policy.
• Compliance with ELS Drug and Alcohol policy.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an Airport Security badge.
• Ability to identify and correct conditions affecting employee safety.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Ability to complete assigned training in a timely manner.

• Ability to troubleshoot and repair basic electrical and electronic systems.
• Ability to perform basic HVAC, welding, and/or plumbing tasks.
• Ability to work in tight and high spaces utilizing appropriate PPE and fall protection equipment.
• Ability to follow and comply with all company and federal policies and procedures.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an Airport Security badge.
