About the role

The AWS Center for Quantum Computing is a multi-disciplinary team of scientists, engineers, and technicians, all working to develop quantum computing technology capable of delivering value to customers. We are looking for a senior technical program manager to support infrastructure and R&D projects.

Responsibilities

  • Tackle a grab bag of high-profile projects that require working across internal teams as well as with external collaborators.
  • Leverage in-depth domain knowledge around R&D for quantum computing technologies to anticipate efficient lab operations while also navigating evolving infrastructure needs.
  • Make data-informed decisions at a programmatic level.
  • Support the definition of technical project management standards across the Center of Quantum Computing.
  • Contribute to shaping our general project management practices across the organization, including improving our general lifecycle approach for projects, while also increasing our ability to promote visibility of project progress to other teams and senior leadership.

Requirements

  • Leverage your experience in managing complex technical programs to make data-informed decisions at a programmatic level.
  • Experience in project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management.
  • Experience leading highly technical programs involving infrastructure, complex systems, systems engineering.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or equivalent.
  • 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience.
  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience.
  • Master's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, material science, physics or equivalent, or PhD.
  • Experience working in an R&D context in the semiconductor industry.
  • Knowledge of superconducting microwave devices or superconducting qubits.
  • Experience planning, developing and operating R&D labs in a quantum computing context.

Skills

  • Familiarity with system engineering topics that intersect with project management, such as quantitative risk management, reviews, and requirements management is highly desirable.

Pay

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
