Sr. Technical Program Manager, Hardware NPI, Edge & High Performance Accelerator Servers for AI/ML

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. Amazon Web Services (AWS) Hardware Engineering team creates compute and storage server designs for Amazon's web services. What you will do
- Own and lead the design and development of server products utilizing a wide range of design and manufacturing partners
- Work closely with our customers to understand their technical needs and business goals, leveraging your experience with server design and the knowledge of various teams to architect the solutions that we will deploy at scale
- Work with an interdisciplinary team of component, firmware, test, qualification, and integration engineers, and lead our design and manufacturing partners to bring these servers to the data center
- Oversee the fleet of servers you develop after launch, monitoring their quality and how they are meeting the customer requirements
- Constantly look for ways to improve your products' performance, quality, and cost

Key job responsibilities
- Manage large, complex New Product Introduction (NPI) programs, delivering critical solutions, significant improvements, new mechanisms, or deprecating systems that are no longer needed
- Successfully manage all stages (from concept to launch)
- Understand the architecture of the hardware systems you own; influence team technical priorities and business strategy through data-driven contributions
- Communicate ideas effectively, verbally and in writing, to a wide range of audiences including Directors and VPs; foster constructive dialogue, harmonize discordant views, and lead the resolution of contentious issues (build consensus)
- Partner successfully with customers, stakeholders, and engineering teams
- Set a great example with your program management practices; routinely and efficiently deliver the right things
- Define clear goals and objectives; drive crisp decisions in your program area about what projects move forward and in what priority order
- Proactively identify risks and bring them to the attention of your team and stakeholders with plans for mitigation before they become roadblocks
- Judiciously add, refine, and remove procedures; apply project management best practices to increase the productivity and effectiveness of the teams you work with
Basic qualifications
- 7+ years of technical product or program management experience
- 7+ years of analytical, quantitative, communication, and presentations experience
- Experience building and evaluating system-level technical design
- Experience leading highly technical programs involving infrastructure, complex systems, systems engineering
- Experience managing technical programs across cross-functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience managing complex hardware systems and programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
Preferred qualifications
- 7+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
- Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership
- Experience owning and driving complex server system NPIs such as compute, gpu (AI/ML), or storage servers
- Extensive experience managing complex hardware systems and programs, building processes, complicated schedules with many dependencies, identifying risks, trade-offs, designing 2-way doors
Pay
Base salary range is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
- USA, CA, Cupertino - 171,000.00 - 231,400.00 USD annually
- USA, TX, Austin - 148,700.00 - 201,200.00 USD annually
- USA, WA, Seattle - 148,700.00 - 201,200.00 USD annually
