About the role

Prime Video is a premium streaming service offering a vast collection of TV shows and movies, including Amazon Originals, exclusive licensed content, and live sports events. The CLUE (Content Localization, Understanding and Enrichment) organization is seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager to lead complex, cross-organizational programs that drive Prime Video's technology and product evolution. This role operates across multiple organizations, delivering initiatives where the problem and strategy may not yet be fully defined. You will determine the right goals, design long-term solutions, and align stakeholders to deliver outcomes with meaningful customer and business impact.

As a Senior TPM, you will lead programs across domains including Content Understanding, Content Derivatives, Artwork, Metadata, and Trust and Safety. You will partner with engineering, product, science, and business leaders to drive technical decisions, simplify complex problem spaces, and deliver ML/AI-powered solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver complex programs with cross-organizational impact, operating across multiple organizations within Prime Video.
  • Drive clarity in ambiguous spaces where the problem, strategy, and solution path may not yet be fully defined.
  • Define program scope, requirements, and long-term plans for initiatives with high leadership visibility.
  • Identify gaps and risks across systems and teams; design simplified solutions that address constraints and deliver the best outcome.
  • Drive technical decisions and architectural trade-offs across engineering teams, representing benefits and challenges of each approach.
  • Partner with science and engineering teams to integrate ML/AI capabilities into cross-domain programs.
  • Influence stakeholders and partner teams through data-driven judgment to align on the right goals and priorities.
  • Build consensus across organizations, presenting complex decisions and trade-offs clearly to senior leadership.
  • Establish and drive program mechanisms that ensure consistent delivery and long-term operational excellence.
  • Clear roadblocks with the right resources, escalating when appropriate to maintain program momentum.
  • Simplify and drive the use of best practices across the TPM and engineering communities.
  • Mentor and develop other TPMs on the team.

A day in the life

Your primary focus is driving complex, cross-team programs from ambiguity to delivery. On any given day, you might be defining requirements with engineering leads, clearing roadblocks across partner teams, or presenting program trade-offs to senior leadership. You will work closely with science and product teams to integrate ML/AI capabilities into customer-facing experiences. You will balance tactical execution with strategic thinking, making trade-offs between short and long-term needs. Beyond program delivery, you will contribute to team mechanisms, mentor other TPMs, and help shape how we operate.

About the team

The Content Understanding and Derivatives team delivers AI-powered content analysis that drives customer engagement and monetization across Prime Video's global catalog. Their systems generate derivative assets and metadata at scale, enabling personalization, advertising, and playback experiences that increase viewing time and revenue. The team operates within PV CPL (L10) and CLUE (L8), delivering impact through three strategic capabilities:

  • Content Understanding & Search: Creates the foundational data layer (MediaCoRE) and search infrastructure (MCX) that powers critical downstream applications including Metronome, Ad placements, and Trust and Safety operations.
  • Content Derivatives: Generates customer-facing assets—clips and artwork—that increase content discovery and engagement across all territories.
  • Content Metadata: Produces enriched metadata (Genre, Mood, Ad cue points, Binge watch timecodes) that enables PV Personalization, Ads, and Playback teams to optimize display and viewing experiences.

Their AI systems operate at catalog scale across all territories, providing the intelligence layer that connects content to customers and drives key business metrics.

  • Experience developing and executing/delivering product and technical roadmaps.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience.
