About the Role
The Senior Technical/Graphics Specialist provides advanced document processing services and general support, creating a variety of documents and materials using advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products and other firm-supported software. This role designs marketing and firm-branded materials, pitch materials, and mentors technical and document production specialists.
Responsibilities
- Use design software and technical applications to create print pieces (newsletters, invitations, announcements, advertisements, posters, brochures) following firm design guidelines and templates.
- Design and implement online promotional projects and media, such as banners and email newsletters.
- Create templates in various programs for use by marketing and other departments.
- Assemble client pitch materials.
- Assist with complex production assignments.
- Train and mentor document production specialists and technical specialists.
- Perform scanning, clean-up, and formatting of images for advanced projects.
- Proofread documents.
- Respond to inquiries regarding project status.
- Answer routine and complex questions about applications and department procedures.
- Assist the IT department with help desk questions.
- Develop proficiency with document production software and technical applications.
Requirements
- Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in a graphic design environment.
- Degree in Graphic Design preferred.
- Certification as a Microsoft Certified Application Specialist (MCAS) and ability to implement design solutions across Microsoft Office Suite.
- Advanced knowledge and proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience with macro development and document shortcuts.
- Accurate and proficient typing skills (minimum 75 words per minute preferred).
Skills
- Microsoft Word: Troubleshoot non-standard documents, prepare tables of contents, tables of authorities, set up and run mail merges, and create labels and badges.
- Microsoft Excel: Set up spreadsheets, write standard and complex formulas, apply complex formatting, and set printing parameters.
- Microsoft PowerPoint: Format presentations using templates and standards, analyze and resolve issues.
- Adobe Acrobat: Convert documents to PDF, prepare CDs (create links between index and files, prepare CD labels and jewel case covers, burn CDs), create fill-able PDF forms, revise PDF documents, and prepare redactions.
- Proficiency with several of the following: AIA, Kanguru Burner Tower, Epson Print CD, OJOSoft Video Converter, Olympus Transcribing Software, DocXtools, Expert, OmniPage 14, Visio, document production tracking software, Adobe, and ChangePro.
- High proficiency with QuarkXpress, Dreamweaver, Adobe CS 5 (or higher), including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Flash, After Effects, and Premiere.
- Produce accurate work with minimal revision.
- Excellent proofreading skills.
- High level of technical aptitude and graphic creativity.
- Ability to anticipate issues and address them with limited supervision.
- Analyze tasks to organize, prioritize, and handle multiple projects.
- Function in a high-production environment.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Flexibility to handle tasks as needed, maintain a flexible work schedule, and work overtime.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit and stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
Pay
The expected salary range for this position is $70,000 - $75,000. Final compensation will be determined based on relevant experience, qualifications, skill set, and geographic location.
